Danes Hill

The property is situated on Danes hill Close, Redhill in a predominately residential area consisting of medium to large family houses with reasonable plots. It is within a 15 mintue walking distance from Redhill railway station.

The existing house is a two storey detached 1960’s house set back from Danes Hill Close with a generous front driveway/garden and a reasonable garden size. The house is east facing and has a long front area leading up to the entrance.

Commonly used materials within the context include brickwork, concrete tile wall hanging, white UPVC tongue and groove board cladding, concrete tiled roofs and white painted timber, typical of a 1970’s styled houses.

The proposed extensions do not unreasonably dominate or result in significant loss of outlook from the windows and garden areas of neighbouring dwellings.

The proposals seek to attain appropriate levels of sun and day lighting with internal spaces. This achieved with wider than standard windows in specific areas which do not face towards neighbouring dwellings. The neighbours on either boundary will have no detrimental impact on their properties.

The design will support local character and distinctiveness. The proposal creates good quality design using the palette of materials currently used within the area and achieves and attains appropriate levels of sun and daylight within the internal spaces with large openings addressing and linking up to the rear garden.
